About Tina
As a predominantly Five Element acupuncturist, I work with you at a deep constitutional level, treating the root cause of your condition along with your symptoms.
I am passionate about treating you holistically and helping you to move through a range of physical, emotional and mental shifts to bring about transformation so that you may embrace your most authentic, balanced and healthy self.
I place this passion into creating unique and individualised treatments and care plans for each patient. I have a particular interest in mental health, but work with a wide range of conditions using acupuncture and supportive adjunct techniques.
I offer you a safe and nourishing space where you can just be you. I walk this journey alongside you. I listen, I care and I see you for who you are.
I am a registered and licenced acupuncturist and a member of the British Acupuncture Council.
My story
I like to think that acupuncture found me rather than me finding acupuncture, and I feel that doing this work is a calling and a life path rather than a career.
I came across Five Element acupuncture while on sabbatical in Turkey – not your usual career changing story. I had been a Communications Manager in the health insurance industry in Johannesburg, South Africa - a high stress, exceptionally deadline driven career for almost 20 years. In my third round of burnout, and certainly the most severe, I knew that I needed to make big life changes or else I was headed for a huge health crisis.
I decided on a travelling sabbatical so as to have my own Eat, Love, Pray experience, to reconnect with myself and give myself much needed (and life-saving) time for recovery, all while exploring the world and rekindling my sense of adventure.
It was on this self-discovery journey that I met a Five Element acupuncturist and my life changed. Always having an interest in holistic health, my heart lit up and I knew this was what I wanted to do.
I followed this dream and moved to Leamington Spa in the UK to study at The Acupuncture Academy (TAA). I completed the three-year honours degree level course accredited by the British Acupuncture Council, and was awarded a Distinction for TAA’s Professional Licenciate in Acupuncture.
I am also a Martha Beck qualified life coach and use these tools to further support my work with the body-mind connection.
Receiving regular Five Element acupuncture has also helped me on my own health journey in recovering from burnout.
